11 Random Bits and Questions from 2

Thanks for the invitations Kathy and SuperKate. Since, I had two requests in two days I will combine them in one posting. Hope that is okay? First the guidelines (which most know by now):

1. Post these rules.
2. You must post 11 random things about yourself.
3. Answer the questions set forth in your Taggers Post.
4. Create 11 new questions for the people you Tag.
5. Go to their Blogs and tell them you tagged them.
6. No stuff in the tagging section saying "you are tagged if you are reading this". You have to tag 11 people.

Happy Day then, here is my 11 bits of Randomness about me:

1. I have a Cold/Fever today. I still got my run in with Husky Puppy - 4 miles. The streak lives another day.

2. I won my Elementary Schools Basketball Free Throw shooting competition each year from 4th-6th grade. One year I did it Rick Barry style.

3. I have attended 2 different Law Schools, yet didn't graduate from either. I guess I just wanted to see if they would accept me. Actually, the last one was an early mid-life crisis.

4. I knew my wife and I would get married the first time I saw her. Trust me, I was a serial dater. I needed that instant inspiration. We were married 3 months after our first date. Been married 12 happy go lucky years since! When it's the one - you know.

5. All four of my kiddos were born at home. I got to be the Catcher for 3 of the 4.

6. I threw up pizza all over a first date once while riding a carnival ride in High School. We went out many times after.

7. Love taking random roadtrips for no particular or any reason at all. Favorite stretch of asphalt or concrete - California Highway 1, US 550 from before Silverton to Durango, Colorado., US 101 from Astoria to Newport, Oregon and the Chuckanutt Highway in Washington.

8. I watch way too much British Comedy for anyone not British. A "Bit of Fry and Laurie" or "Black Adder" anyone?

9. Love studying and reading about marginal historical events. We learn far more about everyday life today when we look to the margins of the past. In other words, great things, have small beginnings.

10. If I see the time 2:22 randomly on any given day, I know life is good.

11. I grew up in Seattle with lots of rain, water and green all around. Lived there over 30 years, and now  quite happily living in the SW desert of the US. In a city that gets 4 inches of rain a year if it is lucky. Love desert running.

Questions from Kathy @ Got to Keep on Running Long:

1. What is your "must have" song on your playlist?
Wow! too many, much too many to choose from. However, I really like hearing the soundtrack from "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - opening theme, and Sigue Sigue Sputnik  - Love Missile F1-11, Elvis Costello's - Alison and Adam Ant - Friend or Foe (entire album), most late 80's early 90's British Pop always seem to pop up while I run. Pet Shop Boys version of "Go West" hits the spot as well.

2. Name one song on your playlist you are embarrassed to admit is there?
Hmmm... and the above ones don't count? :)
I might go with The Brady Bunch- Sunshine Day if that was on my playlist. ;) Oh, what do you know ...? It is. :) Silly me.

3. Given the choice, would you have a housekeeper or chef at your beck and call?
I need to choose? I can happily beck and call both. Yet, I love to cook. Most would rather I not.

4. Favorite childhood cartoon and why?
Any by Chuck Jones, or Friz Frieling. I liked Speed Racer and Josie and The Pussycats as well. Huge childhood crush on Trixie and all the Pussycats.

5. If I could pick any historical figure as a running buddy who would it be and why? (Anything goes ....)
Bo Jackson. If I could run as fast and strong to keep up, as a running buddy with him, I would be quite wealthy. Plus, Bo knows ...?

6. What is your favorite board game? Are you a good sport .... or like me?
My 6 year old got Sorry for Christmas. A day has not gone by since he doesn't ask to play. Favorite, I like Monopoly, but I think Risk is my favorite. Good Sport? Hell no! I cheat or win anyway possible. Unless, I am playing my 6 year old of course.

7. What is your favorite bucket list race or Tri?
Hmm... I just read about a Marathon on Bali. Been there once - beautiful place and people. I would have to say both London and Big Sur Marathons.

8. If you could pick one dessert to be calorie free what would it be?
New York Cheesecake, Key Lime Pie and Apple Pie. Sorry I am having a hard time picking one thing obviously. Who can, or should? :)

9. What was worse for you in PE, running laps or climbing the rope?
Always loved running. Rope. Couldn't do it until 6th grade though.

10. What is your favorite book to read over and over.
I have three. Sorry again, can't pick one. A Prayer for Owen Meany, Generation X and The Mayor of Casterbridge.

11. Who was your first Celebrity Crush? How do you think of them now?
I think I already mentioned her - Trixie from Speed Racer. OK, non-animated - Batgirl from the old Batman and Robin show. When I see the show now - It is Catwoman all the way. What was a I thinking back then.

You know, now that I have done Kathy's tag from Got to Keep Running Long - I will let this be it's own post. Plus, out of respect to these fabulous followers, I think they need their individual post. So, my next post will be SuperKathy's - oops sorry - SuperKate. :)

Uh, oh! I just did one of these. As in just now posted it so since I'm randomed out so I'll pick one of your questions and answer here.

Burgers, Pizza, Burritos (or Tacos), Fish and Chips or Gyros? Which one is your favorite and what restaurant?
Gyros because I hardly ever get one and burritos or tacos (made healthy), my homemade burgers or fish and chips on the Santa Barbara wharf. Can't pick one.

(Today I had tacos from Lupe Tortillas.)

SuperKathy, huh? Well, at least I know you read my post. :) That, and the fact that you commented on it.

Nice job on the streak. Mine broke at 3, but I was supposed to have a rest day, so I'm good with that. Actually, I'd have been ok with it if I wasn't supposed to, either. That's how I roll....lazy. Maybe my streak will be weeks without skipping a training run. If I make it through tomorrow's run, I'll have a streak of 1. :)
