Basketball. Why did I just play basketball yesterday given all the ankle problems this past week? As Forrest Gump said, " I am not a smart man Jenny." Maybe it was pent up frustration of not doing anything active all week. I am not sure? My boys game was delayed by 30 minutes yesterday. So, ya I hate sitting or standing doing nothing. So, I played ball with my boys and his team. It felt great. Ankle and foot did well while playing. This morning - OUCH!!! I hate my aging body sometimes. Same pain again, same spot - AGAIN!
Oh well? At least I know it will go away. I did not have time for the Bike shopping. Too much going on as the day progressed. Yet, as I wake up this AM. It is time to get a new one. I need to take a break from running for a bit. I will still do it and have fun doing so. However, I am thinking I need some cross training, cross endura fun. Need to find a whole different group of muscles to beat to a pulp. I also need to stop eating. Man, I have been eating really bad this past week as well.
I also need to play more basketball with my kids. They are really fun to play ball with now. My daughter, the Ballerina, Soccer Queen and wannabe Princess now wants to start playing basketball as well. It is my favorite sport to play and watch. Although I really dig baseball, football as well as Rugby and Lacrosse. Anyway, I guess out of all this down running time - I am realizing maybe I need less minutes (hours) on running and more with just the kids. More on the athletic activities I can do with the kids. Which is a lot right now.
Soccer it is right now though. I have my schedules and uniforms for the teams I am coaching. All FOUR of our own kids are playing this season. It will be really busy each Saturday for the next 3 months. They will be playing at three different locations as well. At least we have all the practices through the week coordinated well. Along with still getting in School activities, Piano lessons and Ballet for them all. Only thing hindered is the Art Classes for my second oldest. Yet, this is something easier to stop and start up again with his teacher than ballet or piano.
Still I have myself asking Why? Why all this stuff we do? So, busy. Each week is just crazy busy. I just know something is going to be done a little less or moderately less. For me, I think it has to be running at this time. So, much for the hoped for schedule right now on all the races? Need to put off some of the Spring events. Focus on Summer and Fall for running. Will see how it all comes together. Especially with what my body will let me do right now.

7. Creating a whole ecosystem in a fish tank with my kids.

Easy on that ankle pal!! Don't want to be immobile, even with the bit of slowing on the run schedule. Do you have a full time scheduler for the family events, or maybe a activity traffic controller??? Where does the energy come from?

You better becareful!! Don't you make me come to Vegas and kick your butt!! It is so hard to take it easy because the kids are so much fun to play with..I know:) You are still a kid at heart and that is one of the things that I really like about you:)

Take a time out! You are doing so much, but it sounds like you love it! Getting a new bike would be good. I find that riding burns way more calories for the time I am on it, of course we are talking about 3 hr stints! Have a great week!
I can answer your question! Because it's fun! Take advantage of these years to do things like this with your kids. Believe me - you'll blink or eyes and they be all gron up. Then you'll have to rely on your superior intellect and a trick or two to score a basket on them. Hint: start practicing catch and shoot. Like now! Then when they give you the ball after a score you just catch and pop!
