I have taken the last three days off. Last week was a modestly productive week doing over 17 miles. I missed one day due to scheduling issues early in the week. Then by the weekend a cold/flu bug hit me. My little girl has been fighting one for a week. My turn and I still have it. Nagging cough and the usual lack of energy. However, I did make it in this AM.
Got up to the usual 4:45 AM annoying radio garbage. Got there by 5:35 or so and noticed a sign stating there was a Sarah Palin rally next door at the Henderson Pavilion. Yippee. Love that spunky moose and wolf killing, depthless well of inarticulate Republican Party propaganda machine. She certainly draws a crowd of low information, low IQ, overly excited types. Not exactly my type. Also not exactly the usual workout dudes. The time I typically workout the usual suspects are there each and every day. Today, three - maybe four fairly well groomed men all about 6 feet tall in pretty good physical shape were working out today. Never seen them before. However, I am sure in their everyday life they usually sport dark suits with white shirts and conservative ties - also sporting dark sunglasses. Yes, the thought entered my mind they were an advance security detail checking things out while trying to blend in.
Anyway, despite the Political intrigue, and my cold - I did get in 3.5 miles and 400 calories. I felt fine till 3o minutes or so into it. Kept going for another 10 minutes. Crashed for 15 minutes when I got home. Felt awful for about 30-40 minutes, then got better. Hope this goes away soon. At least I know Sarah Palin will go away even sooner. Oh well, gotta give a University of Idaho C student credit. She has gone further than anyone from that school has ever gone before. Sorry, my University of Washington elitism coming out. However, the biggest draw for any incoming freshman at Moscow, Idaho is the lower than usual state drinking age of 19.
