Good Week

Not sure about the last entry or date of it. Suppose I could look, but I will just jump in and write or tap tap tap on the keyboard. Good week for running at least. Not sure about the state of Wall Street and the US/Global Financial world. Dow lost nearly 1900 point in one week! Well, I gained over 20 miles - 20.85 to be exact. The best part - it felt easy - or at least comfortable by the last run of the week.

Not quite a 6 miler this past Saturday with lots of hill action. Okay folks here it is though - the big disclaimer. Yes, it was all on Precor Buddy. Yeah, I know actual concrete or pavement has not been done in weeks now. However, I feel like I am getting a great workout in. The sweat is pouring off me. The legs are kicking hard. HR is up to 147 at times. I even feel my typcial left knee IB pain a times when I am really pushing it. The only thing I am not feeling - the ankle and achilles pain. So, with that said, I think I will take that and keep up the runs on Precor Buddy for now. When the weight is down 10-12 pounds I will try it out on concrete again.

Oh, yeah now I remember the last entry - diet. Losing weight. I knew it would come back to me. I hate that word or phrase at my age. You know it used to be so easy to drop the pounds. 2-3 weeks running - boom there goes 10 pounds at least. Now, I can run 20 miles a week for the next month and will actually gain pounds! I like Coke (Coca Cola). Sometimes Dr. Pepper, but mostly Coke. Pepsi no way - not my generation. I could go thru 4-5 cans a day easily. So, yeah that is where I usually start any diet these days. However, it never seems to make a difference. I used to get by on a meal and half day for most of my adult life. I eat typically 2.5 meals a day now. Even when I cut back to my old 1.5 - no difference. Well, lets see what happens today. I have eaten breakfast and have had two cans. I have been up since 4:00 AM. Lets try salad for lunch, then half what I usually eat for dinner, plus no more cans today and just water.

John McCain just said - "I am a fighter" in his Mermaidman-Grandpa Simpsons sounding voice as he yells at the clouds. 21 days left John. I think I have a better chance of losing 10 pounds in 21 days than Sen. McCain has of winning the election. Lets see who wins! Although, Andrea Mitchell just said she thinks the polls are closer than anyone thinks and John McCain has a good chance. Why do they keep saying this? He is down as much as 12 points in one poll. How is that close with 21 days left? If Obama was down 12 point with 21 days left would she say Obama has a good chance and is close in the polls?
