I am feeling healthy. However the Technology around me? Not so much. Today Precor Buddy life signs were on and off. They do have at least 4 where I workout. I hopped on one a tad further from the TV. I have been too several Hotels and resorts in the last few months. One in Sedona and the other in Ventura, Ca which had some very impressive Precor Elliptical Trainers. Someday I hope my current facility will make the upgrade to the ones with the TV screens built in. Anyway, I am feeling better from my Cold or Flu bug of a week ago. However, I still got in twice last week despite my 101 degree temps and cough.
Just hope the Technology that effects my life will continue to get better. This morning after my 5 AM workout I stopped in and got the weekly shopping done. On the way out, or at least trying too - I smacked right into the automatic sliding glass doors. Yeah, it hurt a bit and raced my heart rate higher than my 4.7 miles just 30 minutes prior. Luckily nothing broke and it was not my day to die from a not so automatic, automatic sliding door.
Las Vegas living has some benefits. State of Nevada has early voting. Not just any early voting, but the most convenient early voting locations anywhere. The only way it could be easier would be if they come to your door. Parking lot of my not so far away Target store. Have trailer will vote. First time I have used touch screen voting machines as well. I think I liked the optical paper scans back in Kansas and punch paper ballots in Washington better. I can see where people have issues reading the touchscreen ones. They can be confusing just by the sheer volume of names - at least in Vegas - running for President. There was around 15-17 of them. I will wait and see how this Obama guy does. In four years I might have to add my name to the list.
I say Obama only because it does look like he will win Nevada. If he can win this mostly conservative Mormon politically infused state, he will win the national election. They are not hand in hand political partners, but Casino's and Mormons pretty much run this state. Although that could be changing. More and more move here from the NE and Chicago these days that actually stay. Plus, I have noticed more and more from the NW. These areas bring more moderate to left of center minded folks. Who did I vote for or want to win? Not telling. If I don't even tell my wife ...... ? I will tell her after the election is over. While I have described some political/social world related things in this blog, I have tried to do it while being objective wearing my former Political Science Major hat on. I also don't think anything I can say or my personal feelings on political/social matters - matters much. In general I frustrate people who want to know what my political leanings are. Why they want to know...? Anyway, I look at things with a pretty apolitical and academic look at things. I do have my leanings and feelings. However, they really are not very important or radical in anyway. Although as I have noted before, a conservative Republican in Washington might be Democrat in places like Utah. It is all in the mind of the beholder I guess.
Anyway, running seems to be good this week. Monday, I was very tired that AM, but 20 minutes into the run bang. Not sure what kicked me into gear, but I finished up 40 minutes later going over 5.75 miles. As soon as got in my car to head home - collapse. Well, at least once I got home. Yesterday, I had some bad - well - bathroom issues after my left over fried chicken the night before. Did not sit well. I had a different kinda runnin' going on. This AM great. Good solid 4.75 miles. Even though it took two Precors to get it all in. Technology? I need to start back on the good ole fashion real world of pavement.
