Much better. At least walking around, and sitting that is. I have taken two days off from running. Might try 3-4 miles tonight to test it out. If that goes well, back into my training tomorrow.
I have been looking over the Calendar of races in hopes of fueling my Half Marathon addiction. Here is the thing - I typically do 6-7 a year as it is. It really is not hard to fill in the other months. Especially keeping it local. Local meaning no more than a 5-6 hour drive away. In fact, I can easily double it up doing more than one a month. Crazy. Yet, since this cost me money and not a job - I will keep it once a month. I am not that crazy - or, am I?
Thanks Colorado runners for the recommendations. I will get a few of them in, if not more. I love that State - one of my favorites to drive through. Actually, when I think of all the places we have family, friends and previous States we have lived we need to visit again - I could easily make this close to a 50 State event as well. I have been back east, but not much in the New England area. Would love to get up there ajh. Will see how it all comes together. My wife needs a Hawaiian Trip soon. Plus, I need to get our kids back to the Washington DC area for all the history it holds. I have a goal in life to spend time on the Appalachian Trail as well. Would love spending a few days hiking some of it.
Anyway here is the schedule of HM's for the upcoming Months:
July - Timpanogos HM in Utah
August - either the AFC (American Finest City) in San Diego, or E.T. HM here in Nevada.
Sept. - Disneyland HM (5K as well)
Oct. - Long Beach registered for the Full, however my 12 year old wants to do the HM now, and is training for it. So, most likely HM if he follows through with it.
November - Snow Canyon HM near St. George, Utah.
December - Yep, doing it again (I keep saying never again, especially after this last one at night) Vegas Rock and Roll HM. It is local, literally 10-15 minute drive to the start. How can I not? Also, in December I will be taking on Tucson Full Marathon again the following weekend.
January 2013 - Phoenix Rock and Roll HM, and I always do the Carlsbad HM.
Feb. 2013 - Surf City HM - a must each year along with Carlsbad.
After that? Hmmm ... not sure. Might do a Texas trip in March (a great time to be there BTW). Love to do Big Sur Marathon some day, doubt it will be 2013 though. May, I always seem to do the OC HM. June, next year will not be doing San Diego RR again. I have a family reunion being planned that weekend. Might do Utah Valley Marathon instead that month.
Interested ones on the radar - too many. Doubt I can work in Half of them. Yet, would love to do a few in Colorado, Moab, Big Sur Full, and HM. SF HM. Sedona AZ, Chicago, Marine Corps, Austin, Fort Worth and Houston (yep got a thing for Texas, but would never live there). Been awhile since I have been up near Santa Barbara, Ca. as well. A few small ones - Star Valley, Wyoming and Whidbey Island in Washington. Also, would love to do the Missoula, Montana Marathon. I have a thing for Western Montana.
We will see how it all comes together. Some of the ones listed are Fulls. Might keep the HM's to local events only at some point, and the Fulls travel ones. Family needs, life events and injuries will be the deciding factors in it all. Also, who knows? Might just pull a Forrest Gump. Stopping in the middle of a road, street, or trail somewhere and decide - "I am kinda tired." Had enough and want to go home. :) Heres to 50 in 50 months.
Cheers!

I would love to do the Missola one too as I have a friend there and Whitbey Island fascinates me too. Add VCM to your list!
Good job calming that bottom down--mine's much better the last two days too. 1200 mg of ibuprofen a day for three days will do that. :^)
Glad you're feeling better. Wow, that's quite a list! You have so many races around you. I guess a willingness to make the longer trips helps.
Unless I was doing it as a destination race, 2 hours is pretty much my limit for a running race. I'll definitely travel for adventure race, though
Come on out and run Colorado - all the crazy people are doing it!!!
I so want to run Disney this year but I think my husband will go on strike if I drag him back there twice in one year.
Sorry about your tush.
