Sorry, thought the above image would be larger. Yet, I think the idea comes through. Living in the SW desert means not only heat, Scorpions, Gila Monsters and dry weather. It is also one of the windiest spots on earth. Wind in the desert means stuff blows. Little things, like, sand and dust particles. Which ALL seem to find the inside of my nose and sinuses. ALLERGIES!
Lived in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest. Never an Allergy to be in any those places. Yet, here, where only 4 inches of moisture falls from the sky a year (if we are lucky) - I am an Allergic wreck. Puffy eyes, itchy (sometimes sore) throat causing me to lose my voice at times. Coughing, sneezing, and a Headache that could light up the Vegas Strip.
Meds? Yeah, well my body doesn't like them much either. Even the so-called non-drowsy ones leave me sedated, and not just 24 hours ago (Ramones reference :)). Claritan does little for me now. It used to help some. Zyrtec actually works well, but maybe a tad too well - walking sedated Zombie (see Ramones again, or Keith Richards), plus a little moody. Allegra - now I think I found the one - maybe. The last few days it has helped enough with symptoms plus minimal drowsy feelings.
What this all means to me - bad timing to start a new running streak. I had to end it before it really got going after 4 runs in row. Back at it. Number three today. Nice little 5 miler with Husky Puppy. Who by the way has a friend now - and running partners for me.
Right here in our little development, we came across another runner with - a HUSKY. Not just another Husky, but the gray/white nearly cloned version of my black/white. Plus, the owners get out the running shoes, and run their Husky a few miles a week. Which is great news for the both of us. I have to admit, I am not big on running partners though, but my dog digs it. So, once a week now the running Huskies along with their owners hit the asphalt for a 5K.
WOOF!
CHEERS.

I'd love the see a picture of the owners and their huskies running! Too bad about the allergies. That sounds like no fun at all.
WOW! That's some dust. We don't get much dust on the coast, but I too am going through the allergy thing right now.
Beautiful Husky. A Husky was my high school mascot (but the white kind).
Good luck with your running in all that dust.
My running streak came to an end at 8 days. All the reasons why I shouldn't run so many times in a row came back at full strength. Oh well, I tried!
I love your puppy!
Wow, that picture!
I hear you on the allergies. Mine have definitely hit. Zyrtec (generic zyrtec) works for me, though I always need a few days of benadryl, too, until things get under control.
Very cool that your puppy has a running pardner, and you're a good daddy to suck it up and run with company. :)
Such a gorgeous dog! If I were to get a dog, I've always wanted a husky.
I don't suffer much from springtime allergies (thank goodness) but i hate the wind just the same :)
Hey! I thought I had commented on this post....weird.....Anyway, I'm sorry about the allergies! My husband suffers, too. Hopefully it will abate soon....
Desert allergies are the worst - especially when the Palo Verdes come into bloom!
Love that you found another running Huskie!
