... this crazy thing called life". Yah, I watched - So, I Married an Axe Murderer one too many times. But, Nancy Travis looks so cute in that little Dutch Girl outfit. Anyway, did you know fellow SNL Alum Dana Carvey is a runner? Even after Heart Bypass surgery. In fact, running my have saved his life. After and during a run things didn't feel right to him. Went for a Doc visit, and they found some heart issues that needed to be fixed. A lesson for us all.
I have been curious how National Day of anything happens. Mainly I just want to know what and when they are so I can celebrate in my own way (and, yes, I really do celebrate Festivus). Today is a fun one - "National Splash in a Puddle and Get Your Friend Wet Day"! Happy Day to ya!!

This one had to originate in Seattle, and by 5 year olds. It might be a hard one for me to celebrate today living in the desert. I will do my best. I will turn the sprinklers on just before my best friend (my wife) comes home; put on my yellow rubber boots (yes I really do have some, I grew up in Seattle) ... and well you get the idea. I already text her and wished her the Happy Day it is. Will see if she gets the clue or not, and is ready for me? :) BTW, just in case I don't Blog over the next few days, and just so you know. Tomorrow, is National Feast of Fabulous Wild Men Day; and Friday the 13th is National Make Your Dream Come True and Blame Someone Else Day. It's true! So do it!! I can't wait for the 13th!!!
Do I really want to get off this crazy thing called life? Hardly. I was referring more to my 365 days of running thing. Here it goes in a nutshell (and no, that is not me inside a nutshell).
*I am not sure exactly when the streak started now. However, I know I have been running every day since at least Jan. 1.
*NO injuries!
*Ice is my second best friend
*only one run was REALLY HARD for me to do - I was SOOOOO tired and full of late night dinner last Friday night when I finally got home. Yet, 1.1 miles it was before bed just before midnight.
*Has it been worth it thus far? YEP!
OK one detail, after last Wednesday 8.5 miler at race pace I thought I was toast the next day. I was. Calves were barking especially my right. Barking for three days after as well. Yet, I found the runs the next three days some of my favorites. Yes, that Friday was a hard one just to do, but once I did - the Calf felt so good and strong after. I was worried about getting yesterdays in some. It was a 1.5 miler after doing 6 miles of sure hillish hell the day before. The legs were tired, but again surprisingly fresh legs post 1.5 miler. Hmmm .... and the big thing NO injuries. The Achilles feels good.
Today, 9-10 miler. I leave for it after writing this. I will check back after Thursday. Oh, I am also slowly increasing the length of the post regular workout run. So tomorrow, post today's 10 miler, will be a 2 miler.
Happy Splashing your Best Friend today! :)
Cheers!
