Reading on the Run

These above titles and Chi Running are pretty much it. It, being the extent of my readings on running.

I have re-injured my Achilles - AGAIN! I mentioned the day after my last run with Husky Puppy I felt gimpy. Well, the day after that - FULL on pain again. Today, I can walk again.

Anyway, to kill the time I have been reading about the very thing I wish I could be doing. So, while I have some more down time, and vacation time coming up this week. Any of you have any running book suggestions? I am into historical accounts and tales of running. I like coaching/running guru advice to make you a better runner stuff. Although sometimes it beats a dead horse some. Mainly, something witty, with a good background and tale/yarn of running or runner(s). Something which can help me evolve as a runner, but mainly as a human being as well. Something cheerful.

I did search out a title I want to get my hands and eyes on - Indian Running by Peter Nabokov. It is out of print, and pretty pricey to buy.

My only personal pet peeve - Dean Karanazes. I have seen a movie he produced of himself. Not a fan. He seems a tad too self-promoting. Not into that. So, unless you can offer a compelling reason to read one of his books .... I will pass.

Have a great day!

Cheers!

I've read Born to Run and absolutely LOVED it. I have Run Less, Run Faster and know of people who swear by it...but it requires you to push yourself more on those long runs than what I'm willing to do. I'll have to check out the other one.
