.... I am called 5 foot nothing.
Well, one of my many names for myself anyways.
Today was hill day. Actually, it was my first "real" training run in months to be honest. It has been that long since my Seven Hills workout. It has been that long since my Achilles has been healthy enough to try. Differences from then and now - 20 degrees of heat. Enough to make my Hill workout - a slog and a gruel than a run.
Today, another in which the meteorologist is 80% wrong, we hit 105. They told me two short days ago we would be in the mid 90's again. I left the house at 5:30 AM and it was 83. Cool!? Lets kick some asphalt!? ;(
Numerically speaking the name of the area I Hill train is called Seven Hills. Number of Hills I actually run - 4. Two of which well .... have me feeling a little like this ....
Cute.
Not so cute ....
5.5 miles that I was gliding - yes gliding through in true feelings of smooth just a few shorts months ago. Today, had me really slogging hard to the end. Back then it was about 55 - 60 degrees for these AM trainers. Geez! 20-25 degrees does hit hard no matter how many Summers I have lived here now. Either that, or turning 45 in exactly one month from today; is bringing on a different meaning to the end is near?
Have a great day in all you do today. I am feeling like I need to take off all my clothes and jump in a ice cold pool of my favorite beverage - drinking myself out of it. Now, there is a visual for ya?
Cheers!

Look at you...what is this, three in a row? :)
Our heat isn't quite as high as yours, but we've had some days in the high 90's. It definitely hits you hard, especially when you're not used to it. Nice job sticking it out. Today I ran with my 7 year old (on his bike) to the Y to swim. Boy, did that pool feel GOOD!
ugh. i feel ya on the heat
Great visuals there. I'm feeling your pain!
Keep at it. Sorry it is back to the middle of the night slogs for ya! Hope the weekend is good for your training - have a great one!
heheheh. And we wonder if summer will ever come here...
