"Take Me Out .....

..... to the ballgame."

I have a new favorite team. Well, Triple A Farm Team that is. I have been to two Las Vegas 51's games this season. First games for me ever for them. Even though we have lived here 8 years now. During this time they changed from being the LA Dodgers farm team to now - Toronto Blue Jays. We went to cheer on the Tacoma Rainers and Dustin Ackley (top Seattle Mariners prospect).

I am a Mariner fan. Born and raised. Yet after seeing the lineup the 51's have coming soon for the Blue Jays - WOW!!! Brett Lawrie was a Triple away from hitting the cycle last night. Here is a prospect to watch!! I think we make it out for a few more games before the season is over.

GO 51's!!!

If you are asking? They are named for the infamous, yet top secret Area 51 here in Nevada. All the kiddo's, even Mom had a great time battling the wind and having fun at the Ballpark.

Running?

Back at it for the most part after a break. I am finding the break was needed in more ways than one. Taken only  because things got busy for a 10 day stretch. Yet, that time off has done wonders for my Achilles. Much stronger with no pain. Yet, my right knee is doing some odd things over the last few runs. Like locking up on me briefly post run. Feels fine running. A few little tweaks. Post-run not happy for a few minutes. Icing yes - of course! Will see how it does during the Half Marathon.

Yep, the San Diego Rock and Roll next weekend looks like a go. I had originally hoped at doing the Full. Yet, with unforeseen life business interrupting my schedule (no more will I plan to train for a Full during Soccer Season), and the nagging off and on injuries - just the Half.

Excited for the weekend getaway in one of my favorite cities. Not so much for this course. The Half kinda beat me up last year. Yet, I cannot  NOT do this one again. One it is due to a big discount on the registration for me. Also, because I really, really, REALLY like San Diego. Our family ALWAYS has a great time there.

So, anyway, the running. I put in a 7 miler mid week last week. 5 miler yesterday battling 40 mph gust, filled with lots of desert real estate going into my lungs. Love that dust - NOT! Who knows what's in it. Bits of long ago radioactive particles from the real area 51, and other Atomic Testing locales just over the desert Mountains from us. It all took place long ago, yet who knows how long that remains in the desert dust?

Tomorrow, a ten miler. Then a midweek 5, and 5K with Husky Puppy. Race next Sunday? Expectations for this one? Not much. Just have a fun weekend and hopefully better finish than last year. With NO injuries.

Cheers!

We have a Frontier league team that plays about 35 minutes from our house. Cheap tickets, cheap concessions, great family atmosphere...and if the baseball isn't all that great, well, I'm not a big baseball fan, anyway. It just means I'm not missing anything when I'm off at the playground. :)

Glad to hear the break was good for the Achilles. Good luck at San Diego!
