Asked about how the Meatless March thing was going? Ummm ... may the above picture answer that one please. A picture says a thousand words. In this case - one word - FAIL! :)
Yet, lets be clear here. 5 Guys Burgers and Fries is NO failure. In fact, may my Seattle roots forgive me. Plus, ALL my dudes and dudettes who grew up eating this back in Seattle
I think? My beloved Dicks may have been bested? The only thing that keeps it a "I think" is the price. 5 guys is a little on the pricey side compared to Dicks. Yet, the burgers are as good, and bigger at 5 Guys. They come loaded with lots of condiments. The fries? Well, same Peanut Oil fried taste as Dicks and MORE of them. They even tell you where in Idaho the fresh potato's your fries were made, come from! Today, it was Rexburg, Idaho (yes, sadly I have been there as well).
This is really tough. NO one knows how loyal I am, more than my dudes and dudettes in Seattle. Tough admission here - SO PLEASE FORGIVE! The next time I am in Seattle, please let me be. I am living, and trying to get over this. Something I thought could never happen.
Just as I thought America could never vote an African American President (and really great guy as well, and thank goodness WE did). I never thought in my lifetime, Dicks could ever be bested. Just one more thing that says, "Seattle is further and further in my heart strings - rear view mirror." Bye, bye Seattle Supersonics. Bye Ken Griffey, Jr, and Dave Niehaus. No more Daleys Drive-In. Now this? I will try to wear my blue Dicks Drive In Tshirt one more time. One more time before I lay it to rest. :(

5 Guys is OK - I like the Colorado at SmashBurger better - 1/3 pound with melted cheddar, chipotle sauce, and green chiles - oh yes! Have a great day on your whirlwind tour tomorrow. Race well, coach well, but most of all - be the good Slomo dad we know you are! Have a great weekend!
Life brings us many nice surprises...our president, good hamburgers and even better ones, french fries and weekends of fun running and soccer...
but don't put the shirt to rest, it's a relic!
