Pressure! The Pressure of finishing my morning run - 7.25 miles in time. The deadline - my little kinder kiddo being the last one picked up from school. No child likes that. Just as I was leaving the house the phone rang before the run. I thought no don't get it! Yet, I saw the number - a Soccer Parent from the team I coach. I have to answer. Nice conversation, love the parent and child, but 25 minutes later I FINALLY had to say I have to RUN! LITERALLY!
All good in the end. It turned out to be the fastest paced overall run in months. I also had a pretty remarkable feeling. One I have not had since 7th grade. I shared the story of running my cross country run in PE. Everyone complained about doing it. I was not too excited by it either, having never run that far before. I took off from the start, and decided I am going to sprint this or just do it! I flew. Finished ahead of everyone by a large gap. The feeling I had doing that was pretty incredible. This Morning as I approached the driveway ready to jump in the Truckster to get Kinder Kiddo - that same feeling hit me again. It is a feeling of freedom. My body can really do this!
Oh, got him in time from being the last one picked up. Only by one other child though. It was his new girlfriend whom he cannot stop talking about or wanting to play with. So, he had fun. Yes, my wife is quick to say - just like his Dad. "Every race the same. One-two new guy runner friends made. Yet, 7-8 new Runner Girlfriends!" Don't get me wrong - my wife thinks it is amusing and kinda cool.
Gratitude for the Day
Okay, yesterday I listed via pix and album covers musical artist I am grateful for (at least a few of them). Today, films and movies I am grateful for. You thought my musical tastes are all over the map and have a wide perspective? Well, movies too. Some of these, the whole movie in its' entirety just was perfect or near perfect for me. It reached something in me on all levels. Others, well, others might be the actor or actress in them. One really great line. Or, one really great scene or shot. In some cases, it was the music. Whatever the reason, these movies grabbed me in some manner, and I left feeling different after watching.
There is no order with them. Random. Some I have just found memorable scenes - can you guess the movie?

I loved Four Weddings and a Funeral, When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, Knotting Hill and Mystic Pizza! I also love Clint Eastwood:)
Finding Nemo is one of my little man's favs:)
Movies really do leave us feeling some kind of emotion. It is so wonderful when we are moved, touched or changed in some way:) I totally agree! Thank goodness for great movies:)
YOU have an awesome wife, I love that girl friend story!!!!
Yippee-ki-ay, Slomo! :) I think I've seen less than half of your movies, but that puts me ahead of where I was on your music list. Glad you made it in time to get your kiddo and that he was well-entertained while waiting. :)
I would love to see Princess Leia's twin sister. We lost her to a predator awhile ago. To let them out or not let them out? It's a tough one.
I don't know how you remember all those movie titles...lots of those are movies I also felt something special from.
Love the running stories :)
You have some of my favorite movies there. Some I saw many many years ago so it is time to watch them again, I think. And then there are quite a few new releases I want to see.
Wow. Brazil. You must be a Monty Python hardcore.....
