Okay, I am bragging again. I must though. My 9 year old soon to be 10, just finished a Report on our State of Nevada. He was very excited to tell me he got 100%. The first time his Teacher has given 100%, A Plus on this assignment in 5 years. He was excited after working so hard on it. The above Desert Tortoise is some of his own Artwork he included in the report. I like it so much, I am thinking of going from Slomohusky to simply The Tortoise. So, I can use this cool drawing as my profile. Here is another -
The Nevada State Bird, The Mountain Blue Bird. Oh and one more - the State Seal.
Oh, speaking of Kids Art. The Long Beach Marathon has put up for Auction all the Millers Children Hospital Art on the Mile Markers for the race. It was works submitted by patients/children at the Hospital. Really fabulous stuff. If you ran the race, or were there - you know what I mean. You might think about bidding? All the proceeds go straight to Millers Children Hospital at Long Beach. My wife and I have one were eyeing. I am not saying which, we don't want to get out bid now that I have mentioned it. :)
Took advantage of Southwest Airlines Trick or Treat sale again today. Yep, I am booked on a flight to Tucson, AZ for the Marathon. My wife made the call on flying and just me doing this one myself. She felt this one was something personal for me to do - on my own. I kinda agree, but still would've loved to have the whole family with me. Yet, with so much going on that Month for us - better this way all around.
Here is the thing - Leap of Faith some. I KNOW NOTHING about Tucson! Well, I know where it is. I know it is home to the University of Arizona. Which has a pretty decent Law School and very good Basketball teams in the past. The city - nothing. Anyone out there who knows this city let me know something about it? Educate me. If I am going to run its very own Marathon, I am thinking I need to know something? Really I will only be there for a quick fly in Sat. AM, hit the Expo, see a few sights, check out the course, eat, sleep, run it, shower, find the Airport again and back to Vegas Sunday early evening.

So go ahead - anything? Good place to eat while there? Anything other then the Campus I should check out? I need to know? By the way, I am ready to be surprised. Arizona always seems to do just that. The desert there really is far more scenic than Vegas.
Have a fun rest of the Halloween week. Wow, just cannot get over how busy this week has been. Three Halloween Parties down, two more tomorrow and one last one Friday. Crazy week!
BOO!

Don't know anything about Tucson but your son has some major art talent. Congrats on 100%
LOVE the turtle picture, kids' art is so expressive. It would probably mean a lot to him if you used it on your blog!
I raced in Arizona once, and only once. Enjoy it though!
Those are such great drawings!!!
I am doing Vegas RnR!!! Are you still on the fence about the HM?
And I'm lol about your pacer sign comment. That guy in the black actually offered to carry it while I was trying to take my GU but I didn't know if I'd get in trouble. :p
His pictures are great! You should be proud! I love kids' art. My profile picture on facebook used to be a drawing of me by a student.
I have a friend who lives in Tucson, but I've never been there, myself. Southwest has been good to you this month! :)
Check out Running Laur and Adam . They come from the area.
Whoa, 100%! Way to go, Runner Dude 2! The art is also very, very cool. No wonder you're so proud of your boys :)
I'm afraid that I don't know much about Tucson, either. I played in an ultimate frisbee tournament there a few years ago, but apart from playing, eating, and sleeping, we didn't do a whole bunch. I just remember that it was quite warm.
Happy Halloween to you and your family, Slomo! Take care, and have a fun race this weekend :)
Congrats to your son! You have every reason to be proud of him! He is a very talented young artist:)
