Precor Workout

It has been awhile. Yet, last night I felt myself and my old Precor Elliptical Trainer buddy needed some time. It has been over a year since I have put in any miles on one. Frankly, I am still not a believer these are even "real" miles. Oh yes, the read out on the control panel seems, or appears to be marking off miles as my legs/feet go back and forth. Even tells me how many calories burned, average cal. burned a minute, strides per minute and of course heart rate.

Sorry to say though, I think it is all a shame. Accuracy in my mind in serious doubt of all these monitor readings. Along with thinking I am getting anything close to a real running/card workout. Okay, yeah I feel my heart rate going up, and try to sustain it for certain time intervals. It is just not the same for me. These machines were great for the 3 month's or more while I was trying to build myself up for road miles. Now that I have put in those miles for well over a year - I know what the "real" thing is. "The sun will always shine, the birds will always sing. As long as there is Coke " - oops - my feet hitting and pushing of the ground - "there is always the real thing."

Okay, I will get off my rant now. I put in 4.6 miles according to the monitor last night. I got to my workout facility later than I wanted. So, 4.6 is all I had time for before the lights were turned off on me - literally. Today, my ankle hurts.

I am about to give up on this ankle thing. I have had three - count them three Docs look at. It has gone from hardly being able to walk on it - to hardly feeling anything at all. It has been nearly a month since I first felt it - actually I think more than a month now. I am giving up on caring about it now.

I am going to run on this puppy till my foot needs to be amputated. Well, not really. Yet, I gotta run! Run I will. Well, at least once this 45-50 mph wind in Las Vegas stops. It has been blowing for two days straight. So, at least one more night inside simulated running. Tonight, I will do it on a treadmill.

Hi Slomo,
I am sorry to hear about your ankle again. I wonder what it is? I admire your drive and determination...but just be careful so you don't injure yourself big time:)

I love monkey bread too!! It has been a long time since I have made a batch:) I am now craving it!!

I hope that you have a fabulous day Slomo!!

Woohooo for Big Sur!! I gotta run that marathon again someday. It sucked the life out of me so I have revenge :).

I kinda gotta admit, I like your ankle attitude! There are things that are just inexplanable and as mysteriously as they appear, they disappear so I'm hoping that's what your case is. I'm not saying it couldn't be "something" as it very well could be, but somethings these aches and pains are just normal part of training and I'm hoping that's just what this is for you. If it gets worse, then stop and seek more doctor's advice. That's just the mom in me being a mom :).

Too bad doctors don't/won't guartantee their esults like a good product does. I would be back at them demanding an explanation. Of course they aleady have your money and hence the incentive to get it right.....
