Caught a good wave and rode in for a new PR by 3 minutes. Fun race event and one I will do again. Great weather the day of considering the day before, along with Friday Night drive - very bad. Pretty much near perfect racing weather and the surf was nice as well. Our family had another fun trip together. Huntington Beach looked and felt fantastic.
It was good to see my Sister and her family as well. She finished strong in the full marathon. Her two oldest finished with equally strong full times as well. Especially, considering one of them had a heavily taped bad ankle.
However, the one who really scored big was my little 6 year old girl. I was running the Half Marathon while she ran to a SECOND place finish for all the girls in the kids One Mile Fun Run. There was not an official time for this event, because it was for fun. Yet, my wife said only one girl finished before her. My wife had tears in her eyes as she crossed the finish running as hard as her little legs could go. I really wished I was there to see that than running the Half!! Her two brothers did well in their mile effort as well. Everyone had a great time. All of us who ran took home an ultra cool surf board medal. Even the kids!
More later. Just got home and need some sleep. I had no camera on me for the race. Which is a shame because there would've been some fun shots. I let my wife have the camera so we could have shots of the kids doing their race. All of the pix taken were priceless. I will share a few later. To bed and then back to our Realworld in the AM.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!!
Cheers!

Way to go Slomohusky! Sorry I missed you post race. I made a few cicuits of the finish area and was looking for you. I figured you would have Slomohusky on your bib. Sigh. I'm sure we'll cross paths again. Next time let's share cell phone #s!
Those mountains to the north with all the snow on them are the San Gabriels. The tallest is Mt. Baldy (formally Mt. San Antonio). You drove past it on the 15 coming into town.
