Busy, busy, busy..... SLEEP!!

Crazy weekend of busy stuff. All our family activities, plus realworld has made for some busy times. It is nothing new though. Especially this time of year. Spring, and yes we call Feb-May Spring here in Vegas, is generally busy. Fall as well. Summer, things actually slow down some with the heat, and Winter? When is Winter again? Been soooo long since I remember what Winter is? I usually call it that time from Thanksgiving to Surf City Marathon Weekend (formerly Super Bowl Weekend in my personal calendar).

This weekend with all our family fun stuff we added three new members to the fun. Nemo, Sheldon the Wonder Fish and Gary the Snail. Yes, two goldfish and a snail. Plus, 10 gallon fish tank, several live underwater plants, 10 lbs of faux pink colored rocks, and a Spongebob fish tank decoration. It was supposedly just for the youngest two in the Family, but the older boys are pretty into it all as well. Who knew two 25 cent fish and 1.00 snail would make such an impact? I think it is the ultra cool pink rocks myself. Will see how long they live though. I have bet with my wife - 6 weeks for the fish and 6 months for the snail. It is a bet I will be happy to lose if they live on longer.

Running this past weekend reminded me I have lived in worse running weather. I have grown to really enjoy the SW weather. Yeah, it is caliente hot, hot, HOT! 3 months out of the year. Yet, the other 9 months, especially right now - paradise. Although we woke to snow on the peaks in the area this AM. My trail run has definite snow on it. I can see the trail from our house distantly. If I were to take off up the trail right now, I might need some Yak Trax.

Anyway, running. Last week I met goals for the week and felt nothing but happy well used muscles yesterday. In other words tired, little sore and stiff. Today, rested and ready for another week. Yet, trying to find more Zzzz in the schedule would be nice.

I have my Soccer Rosters in hand and ready for a new season. It will be fun. Two teams this time with my youngest little kicker starting for the first time along with 6 other boys. Plus, the return of my daughters team. We have three returning players and 5 new ones on her team. The new ones have all played before - Woo Hoo! It makes thing so much easier. We are getting excited as we start practice this week.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! This Sunshine Award Tag has really gotten around. I think everyone I follow has been tagged now, or has tagged me as well with one. Thanks!

Hey Slomo - I seriously don't know how you do it all and still have an ounce of energy to run. You must have the Energizer Bunny in your bloodlines!!! Hope you have a great week and keep enjoying that early spring - lucky you!!!

Gotta tell you I am jealous of your locale. I love the desert and truly believe that the whole "change of seasons" thing is highly overrated! Enjoy your weather and scenery.

Great you met those running goals last week. I love that well done feeling in the muscles. It's like, every time you walk you are reminded of all the hard work you have done!

I think a lot of poeple don't understand just how unforgiving the climate in Vegas can be. They think it's desert, so it must always be hot. I dont think that it registers that it actually snows in the winter!

I have the same to say about goldfish that Julie did above. I picked up a couple at a carnival or somthing. I think they finally died about 5 years later or something. They are great things to teach your kids how to care for a pet - not as demanding as a dog or cat, but still requires regular cleaning and care. Cool!
