Okay, maybe just an excuse to show off a great photo of Mia Hamm. Yet, I have several girls who could be as good some day if they want too. We have our end of the season Soccer Pizza Bash tonight. Should be a fun outing for all the girls and their families. We did not win a single game this season after a 5-4 season previous. They tried hard and had fun. I had a blast again coaching. We lost some girls who had been playing a few years due to Vegas move outs. The new girls had never played before, and each week we played teams who had all been together for years now. Okay, bad excuses. I should be fired as coach :). Yet, no one wants to leave the team, and no one wants me to leave. I take that as big win for the season. Both players and parents had fun! Isn't that a great photo of Mia Hamm though? One of my favorite athletes.
Foot is not hurting anymore. Just some slight discomfort when I get up from sitting for awhile. The knees feel fine. I do have some tenderness and very tight calves. Noticed this as I was getting a foot massage last night. Will see how it is tomorrow AM for a short, easy 4 miler. They all seem to connect. Tight calves lead to strains further down the line - Achilles, ankle area tendons and P.F. . I need to start working in more breaks. Not sure how with a busy event/race calender coming up. Turkey Trott and Vegas RR Half only a few weeks away each.
Okay - crimes, our truck was broken into or at least the attempt at doing so. Punched in hole just below the lock, door handle with a screwdriver or some other tool. Nothing was missing inside, or at least from what we can tell. However, they left some very noticeable damage with a quarter size hole in our door. Welcome to Vegas?, although this was in Henderson at my wife's Hospital parking lot. Nice. Yeah, again, not the best place I have ever lived.

That's horrible, so sorry about your truck! That always stings a little! That's great news about the soccer team, winning is nothing. YOU WON because the parents and kids love the coach and want to come back for more fun. THAT"S WINNING! Great job, you're doing it all right! I Do love Hillary's quote..It does take a village. Thanks for doing your part!
I was never a big soccer fan, but I do really like Mia, I remember watching her and the US soccer team win Olympics and thought how cool it all was! That's so great that you coach the team, I've always had a huge amount of respect for parents who can get out there and do that sort of thing.

glad your foot feels better. is it bad that a big reason I want kids is so I can coach their sports?? hah, ok not completely, but that is something i look fwd to some day.
