.... to never run at night again in Las Vegas. Well, never might be too strong here? Today, I continued my alarm clock strike. I am letting my internal natural clock wake me instead of the alarm. My first attempt I woke without the alarm at 4:00 AM. This AM up at 5:30, a little too late for me to get in my fully planned 8 miles before the realworld begins. So, I ran tonight instead.
The result, my 8 mile run turned into 6.5 miles due to rolling my left ankle not once, not twice, but three times. The last two times were attempts to not die by truck flattening. The last one caused my ankle to stiff up. Nicely and luckily a parent of one my soccer kickers pulled up to honk and say hello. I was able to get a lift to the house. I have an ice wrap on it as I type. I don't think it is a full sprain, but we will see how it is in the AM. Just another string of bad night time runs. Again, AM is my time to run.
End of the month coming soon and I ended up 15 -20 miles short of my mileage goals for Oct. Only because my foot not liking a certain rock while running up a Mountain. I took 5 days off mid month for it. The foot is doing well. Depending on how the ankle does tomorrow - it should be about an 85-90 mile month. All in all, happy with the mileage. I am feeling quite strong overall. Ready for an even stronger November.
Oh, the half marathon on Halloween not happening now. Not because of the ankle rolling tonight. My wife needs to cover some patients this weekend. She will need to be on call. Which means, as I say each time - see you late Sunday night hunny bunny. She has promised to work in the Family Halloween night traditions we have though. Big batch of my four bean veggie chili served in sourdough bread bowels. Then after trick or treating, hot chocolate and doughnuts. We do it every year with friends of ours. However, due too many move outs of late, it will be a much smaller group this year. I invited the parents/girls of the soccer team this year. Hopefully, some of them can make it? The more the merrier!
So, Boo! Happy Halloweenie to ya all! Have a great weekend. Hope the snow stops falling soon for my friends in Colorado. My favorite time of the year back in the Midwest when we lived in Kansas. Enjoy it Midwest friends from South Dakota to Topeka. Keep things Sunny in SoCal. Seattle family and friends - yes I am still in mourning. No opening season tip off at The Key for the Sonics. Go to Dicks or Pagliaaci on me!
Cheers!

Wow, great idea with the chili. We usually meet friends and have pizza. This year Sparkle Pants will be with us, a whole new twist and treat!
Sorry about your ankle...take it easy, it sounds like you'll have a busy kiddo weekend, you'll need two sound ankles and don't take any MEDS with a black box warning... tee hee.
