"Life is getting exciting now. You are going to love my nuts." Life according to my new favorite pitch guy selling us the Slap Chop. The very same unnecessary kitchen utensil that wowed me at age 5 or 6. Just couldn't get my Mom to see the need. But, wow chopped nuts? Now that is exciting. I bring this up only to say, if I could have this guy selling me on just one more mile, every mile - Badwater in a year! Yeah right. Getting my slub of a body around Disneyland-Anaheim-The Big A-Back to Disneyland for 13.1 miles will take something more than a few slap chops on my butt.
Okay I lie. Maybe I am addicted to the sound of my alarm going off at 3:30-3:45 AM. Got up, put on the shorts, laced the shoes to put in a few miles. So much for rest and recovery - or maybe. It was 91 degrees already and air quality unhealthy for sensitive people and pets. There are times I feel like my kids new pet as they ride me hard. I have cried. I am 43 and confident in who I am - I have cried. Not many times, but I have. So, am I one of the sensitive or a pet? Apparently. I ran a couple of miles from the house - yuck - not for me this AM. We hit 112 today for a high. I hate this place sometimes. Physically I felt good this AM, but once I actually ran sucked air at the same time - not a good morning. Crawled back into bed.
Just read RBR blog post on the SF Marathon. Hilly course, but sounds like ideal running weather. Funny report on the Race. Looking at her pix's of cloudy skies and cool temps - I need to move. Running in Stupid Vegas Heat is - well - stupid. It will end soon. However, I got to get this 13.1 race in well before it does. So, here is for cool low 60's and overcast AM marine clouds Sept. 6th in Anaheim. Plus, if my Achilles don't explode by the end of next July - SF is on the event calendar.
