Nog Wars

Little known battle commences each Holiday season in our household - Darigold Nog vs. anyothernog.

Bit o' history. I grew up on Darigold. It is as iconic of a Puget Sound/Seattle area product as Dick's Deluxe and Fries, Spud Fish and Chips, Ivar's, Nalleys, Oh Boy Oberto, Pagliacci Pizza, and all those coffee and beer beverage guys. Darigold is not just Egg Nog. They are Dairy, owned by Dairy Farmers. So, milk, butter, ice cream and of course THE best Egg Nog.

My wife and I, and now my oldest two boys mission in this battle - each year try to find some other Egg Nog which could possibly go the distance. Meaning in two gulps can it dethrone all that is Seattle area Holiday Nogging. Thus far, this year, The King of the Nogs still stands. Unbeaten. Oh, and where can you find this great tasting Nog if you live outside the Pacific NW? Costco and Wal Mart/Sam's Club. It has very much become a National Nog.

Yep, I missed a posting yesterday. Sorry. I also changed back to the old URL. However, I am hoping my issues with the URL Porn Pirates is resolved.

Running. Very nice and strong short 5K since last I posted. A 5-6 miler this evening. Tomorrow, no running, but Soccer in the Park. Can't wait!

Cheers!

Believe it or not, I had my first egg nog EVER today during a race. I don't know the brand, but it was pretty darn good. Usually I'd worry about the calories, but my next move was to carry a bike up 200 stairs, so I figured it was all good.

Glad to hear your running went well. :)

Hey there Mr Floating URL Man! ;-)

Merry Christmas, but nog-less as I came up lactose intolerant this year :( Some folks where I grew up in Ohio made fresh egg nog at Christmas that was not pasteurized or anything - liquid artery clogger but SOOOOO good!
