Remember my excitement with the near FREE purchase of these. Well, I hate them. Okay too strong. Put it this way then - I am trying to figure out what runner these shoes were made for? Not me! I have put in 30 miles on them now, including a Half Marathon last weekend. NO MORE. Finished the slowest 6.5 mile run in maybe a year. It was also the hottest. It was already near 90 degrees by 11:00 AM. So, maybe I cannot blame the Brooks entirely. Yet, after a few miles, it felt like the shoes were doing everything possible to keep my feet on the ground. No matter how hard I kicked, pushed, lifted the knees upwards - these shoes were tugging on my feet. Kinda like wearing suction cups for shoes.
So, after a really brief online search for the cheapest retailer of these
I am back to my favorite running shoe of all time. My Asics Nimbus 12's. Nimbus 13's are out now, so Zappos.com had them reduced by 25.00.
Anyone want a slightly used pair of Brooks Glycerin 8's?
Actually, I will keep them. I will use them as an alternate. Can't beat a free pair of alternates. I really like the look of them as well. Plus, I don't do blog giveaways - sorry.
Have a great weekend.
Cheers!

Oh, no! I'm sorry that they didn't work out for you. I also ended up giving away a pair of Asics, because they were just too gel-y (is that a word?) for me.
New shoes are good - and I know all about grouchy feet when they don't have a good shoe fit - ugh.....
Hey Slomo! Sorry those didn't work out for you. I wear the Brooks Adrenaline and have been wearing them for YEARS, I've never heard of the glycerin. Glad you are happier with your old standby. :)
Just trying to catch up on my favorite blogs. I LOVE your last post where you say that you don't run to BQ, but that you do run to BBQ. Classic and so freaking true.
Looks like you and your family have been running quite a bit. GOOD for you all!
OK, well, I will try not to be a stranger. Cheers!!!! :)
Yeah. I'm really hesitant about trying new things with my gear. Especially shoes. I'm stuck with my Asics 2150's (I guess 2160's by now)...
One can never have too many lawn mowing shoes, can they?? There's so many options out there, good to find the ones that you love best being the ticket.
Hey you! I'm so glad to hear from you! I know you've been back to blogging for awhile but for some reason I was having a hard time finding you and now here you are..Slomohusky. :) I think the thing that makes Kara and I look alike is that we both have big noses. :)
