Happy in Springtime!

Recently I read a posting comparing Manly Runnerism. Yes, tongue in cheek stuff based on the title of a runners blog. Yet, why?

Meaning what the heck is Manly stuff? What the heck is Womanly stuff? Especially when it comes to running or most anything else for that matter? I don't get the joke if there is one. I don't get using differences between men and woman for anything. It reminds me of 1st Grade recess - "Girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice; while boys are made of snakes, snails and puppy dog tails."

Nothing has changed since I guess? We are still on the playground noticing we are different. Labeling what is different. Then in turn joking about what is different or using what is different for some one up gain over the other.

A man cannot just have a friend anymore in his mid 40's. Somehow it has to be called a "Man Crush". Likewise, some men can't get over that any women might be better at running without some feeling of being "chicked". I blame Seinfeld. The made up issues of George Costanza all played up, and on by Kramer, Jerry and Elaine

Okay the transition or segue way into Spring. Two things the first day of Spring brings to my mind. Flowers and Baseball.

and softball.

Flowers, Ken Griffey, Jr, and Danielle Lawrie. Hmmm does this mean I have a Flora Crush on Sunflowers? A Man Crush or Women Crush? Hmmmm ....? Well, since I know I am not in 1st Grade anymore, I do know living in Kansas brought out the Van Gough in me. Ken Griffey. Jr. was the best Centerfielder of my lifetime (my favorite position in Baseball), plus cool dude. Danielle Lawrie is one of the most beautiful women on the planet, plus a fantastic Pitcher. Not to mention maybe the best Athlete, Man or Women to ever wear a University of Washington uniform for any sport.

Have a Cheerful first day of Spring! Did you happen to see the Super Moon last night?

Cheers!

Plus, from everything I gather, Griffey was clean. All around fantastic player, yet the enthusiasm left him oft injured...
