The Civil War . The War . Historical Documents . Sullivan Ballou Letter | PBS

The Civil War . The War . Historical Documents . Sullivan Ballou Letter PBS

Yesterday had me thinking about President Lincoln again. I started re-reading a recent biography of him. Plus, I found on Netflix Instant Viewing - the Ken Burns Civil War Documentary. Outstanding piece of work. At some point in life, all of us should view this at least once.

The above link takes you to a pretty powerful personal letter written at the beginning of the War, and used in the Ken Burns Doc. Very touching letter of love and devotion, plus a real historical gem as well.

Have a great day!

Cheers!

Nice. Most young men couldn't put together two sentences like that these days, let alone a cogent letter such as this one.

We went to Washington DC when our kids were in 4th and 5th grade and I learned so much more about President Lincoln. He was an incredible man. Thank you for the link.
