A quick one. Food! Man I am not sure what is up, however, after yesterdays HM - I cannot stop eating!
Post race - sorry vegan and veggie friends - like all HM's I want nothing but steak afterwards. In fact, typically, at or around mile 10 of any HM - steak is a pretty motivating thing for me. Yes call them CRAVINGS! At least they are not constant. Only running the HM's brings it out. Wonder what 26.2 will bring out of me?
I had my steak yesterday for dinner. It was a perfect NY Strip (or as my Kansas friends call them - KC Strips). Today, munch away Slomo! Nuts, peanut M&M's, bagel, Mango Smoothie, leftover Steak, and yes - my first Mexican bottle Coke in months. I have not even gotten to dinner yet!
I blame the Hungry Runner Girl! Fun blog that looks very edible as well.
However, today aside, I do want to report on something. The title of this blog has changed a few times. Initially it was titled I Got Fat, Therefore I Run. Well, as my wife and all my pants/jeans/running shorts will attest too now - I have lost 40 pounds since I starting running again over 18 months ago. 15 of which since this past Oct. I have been kinda quiet about this part of my running. Mainly due to it being an up and down thing. Yet, at this point it seems more down without much effort. I am shooting for 15-20 pounds more at least. I might need to stop following the Hungry Runner Girl if I am going to get there though? :)
Oh running shorts! Forgot to mention how hard it was for them staying up yesterday. At least for the first mile or so. It was funny. I had to carry my gels, and phone till somehow they just settled down or should I say up. It was a little embarrassing/visual at one point.
Cheers!

Nice job on the weight loss! I was down this summer, but it's crept back up since June. Way to go! :)
I am so glad you got your steak, I am the same way!! Congrats on losing 40 lbs...that is awesome! Sorry you missed the giveaway, I will give you a heads up next time.
You asked about my Camelbak... I can reach around to the back pocket on my husband's Camelbak Classic 70oz Pack (2008), but not on my new one (Charm version for women). On the Charm, the pocket is in the center of my back, but on the Classic, the pocket runs up and down and was fairly easy for me to reach into. My new one cost $35 @ Academy Sports store.
Congrats on losing 40 pounds and finishing the half!
I always get terribly hungry on the day following a high mileage day.
Good job on you weight loss. For me losing weight was not that hard but keeping it off is hard work.
Ha, ha! I would have loved to have seen the look on your face while you were losing those shorts! Nice job on your race ! Now rest!
Congrats on the weight loss! Sometimes after a race I can still eat "normally" and sometimes I'm a human garbage disposal. It doesn't seem related to effort, but I do think it has to do with how relieved I am to be done with a good race!
Congrats on the weight loss. High Mileage days always do the same to me as pregnancy...I just eat and eat and eat. What is really bad is when I'm used to eating so much and then stop running and keep eating...that is a sure way to NOT lose the weight. I feel like I'm way behind on your blog...you must be posting at times I'm not reading so I need to come here more often to see what I've missed.
