This weeks early AM Long Run for the week gave me something special. Maybe the most visual, vibrant sunrise I have ever seen. No camera on me of course. Yet, I have tried to find a few pix which are close to the emblazoned vibrancy.
These three were close, still I could not find one that depicted purple/pink/orange blending together with similar cloud formations. At one point - it really filled the entire sky. Regardless, I think the idea of what I saw comes across. Amazed with the colors and light. Especially, as one stage of light blended in the with next as the sun rose. Very grateful this day I saw this. Yet, of course as the saying goes - "red skies at night, sailors delight. Red skies in the Morning, sailors take warning." Or, something like that. Yep! we have a change of weather coming. Bad timing. Yet, still grateful none the less.
Bits and Pieces
Early risen again. Soccer has one last weekend of Tourney games, then I can have my Saturdays again. So, it was up and Adam. Yet, not quite as early as the plan called for, or hoping. Forgive me out there. The alarm went off a tad before 2:AM and I was zzzz tired zzzzz!
After three nights sleeping on the couch for the health of my wife. I finally, slept back in the bed last night. That, and I essentially did my own version of Fartlek's last night. My girls soccer team is short 3 players going into the Tourney starting tonight. So, COACH! SHUT UP and RUN (no stealing your blog title here SUAR)! It was fun, and a great workout. Anyway, finally, after my wonderful wife gently elbowed me saying - "your late!" I finally got things going 50 minutes later than I wanted. Hey 3:AM is still early in my book (and way too early at that).
Once I left, I remembered why I needed that 50 minutes. Two Runner Dudes Student Council Meeting before school. Plus, my wife and her early Staff meeting to conduct. So, while I wanted 20 this AM at least - it ended being a 17.7 miler. I will take it as well. It started slow and tiring, as only 3:AM runs should. Again though, the sunrise. Something about it's vibrant rays of light gave me the solar flare I needed. I was off. No idea where the energy came from. I finished fast (for a Slomo) and very strong. I would've easily kicked that missing 2.3 and much more. Great feeling!
I have one more. One more long run in the 20's coming up next Wednesday AM. It will not be at 2 or 3 AM though. My wife has that day off. So, how about 6 or 7 AM instead? I'll take it! After that - oh yah - that thing called Taper. Which I never seem to do. I still have Vegas Rock and Roll HM the week before the Full in Tucson. However, nothing longer than that 13.1 Vegas Strip A'Go-Go run after next Wednesday. After Wednesday - let the feast of Gratitude begin! One I am very grateful for!
SO, Much to be thankful for!
My little Kinder Kiddo! Says it ALL to me. Be Grateful, Be Humble, Be Happy and Be Kind!
Cheers!

Love the photos.
Hi Slomo,
Wow, you do get up pretty early to get those runs in!!! Way to get all of those long runs in. I should of spent more time on longer runs too.
Those are pretty pictures. The sun is gorgeous across the horizon:)
Kinder dude is adorable! My little guy starts next year:)
Have a wonderful weekend Slomo!
Those pictures are amazing! Happy weekend!
3 am is sick. You know that, right??? I, too, had sunrise bonanza this morning - only on my way out to work, not run - and I had a camera. Will try to throw one in this weekend!
Your son is sooo cute - love that sweet, innocent age - before the mouthy stuff takes over :). Start taking your camera - we (me) want to see your long run routes!
Good luck to the last soccer Saturday and have a great weekend!
Great pictures! I really do miss living in a dessert area, the sky here is always filled with trees!
Nice photos! I think your 20 miler will be a great run if only because you'll be running when most normal people are awake!
Gorgeous photos Slomohusky!
