Gratitude for the Day:
I don't have a pix of my Dad to share. I wish I did. He was the Photographer. Meaning, we have lots of family pictures all taken by him. Yet, next to known of/with him. My Dad was also many other things. He was the Jack of all Trades.
He was a Photographer. He was an Insurance Industry Exec. . He was a musician. He was a Mechanic. He was an Athlete. He was a Scholar. He was a Coach. He was a Mathematician. He was a Fisherman. He was a Leader. He was Child like. He was Intellectual. He was Type A. He was Calm Hearted. He was Conservative. He was Liberal. He was Kind.
He was my Dad. He was Super. My Mom gave me the gift of life and shaped me. Yet, I am, MY Dad's SON.
He passed away too soon. I was barely 15 when he died. I am utterly grateful for those 15 years. Plus, the 29 years since chasing after, and living up to the memory of him. I hope and pray when I see him again - we will embrace and he will say, job well done.
Thanks Dad.
Running. 6.5 miles this AM. After, my harder than normal HM and 5 mile Tempo run Monday, my legs felt tired today. Yet, to my amazement - my overall time was the fastest 10K distance or near 10K in weeks! Glad time was on my side, even though it felt the opposite. Now, with my Wife needing to be out of town Friday-Sunday - Time may not be much help. I need to find the time for 19-20 mile run this weekend. Plus, coach soccer and get my two boys to their games. It will be a fun weekend being a Temporary Single Parent. Anyone want to come and help this weekend? :)
Cheers!

Welcome to motherhood. :) I've been a mom for some teen years now and I still marvel how we moms manage to squeeze our runs in between errands and our kids' activities.
Sweet writeup about your Dad. Sorry you did not get to be with him longer.
Your dad sounds like he was an amazing man. Mine died when I was 20, and I still miss him.
Good luck single parenting this weekend! I'd love to take a trip to Vegas and help out, but we've got volleyball practice, cub scouts, a birthday party, and a tournament. Maybe next time! :)
Tears two days in a row. I am a total sap.
I loved this.
Looks like in those 15 years he taught you how to be the great Dad that YOU are. Awesome.
Dad's are fabulous.
Vegas helper? wooooo hooooo! Sign me up.
If it was a shorter drive....
Glad you have kept those fine 15 years alive in your memories. Your vibrant children are proof that the spark lives on!
