Bits and Pieces Part V: Nimbus Love ** UPDATED **

I love these shoes so much after only running 3.2 miles - I will name my next born after them. Meet my new son/daughter, Nimbus 12. Yes, after much delay due to injury, wretched stomach sickness and well other things - I finally ran in my new kicks this AM. Strike that! I did not run or ran in them. I flew in them. I glided in them. I ..... well you get the idea. THE BEST ride in a pair of kicks I have ever had. Plush, responsive and the feeling of running on pillows comes to mind. Plus, a really cool color (the same as the above pix). Yes, it was only a hair over 5K. So the jury is still out on the long haul. Yet what a fabulous 5K.

My body. All systems check! Stomach good. Ankle good. Achilles? Nothing. Knock on wood I think I am good to go for another 300 miles or more. Now I just need to turn my new shoes over to my wife. She will hide them for 24 hours from me. I am forcing myself to be a gradual, smart injury free runner. Next run Friday AM. Can't wait for a Fabulous 5 Miler.

Cheers!

Jeri - the right fit of a pair of running shoes is still well below the importance the right fit of your soul mate/spouse. Although, I do like the idea of naming a child Nimbus 12. Yet, I think we are done populating the earth with future runners, soccer studs and studette, Doc's, teachers and lawyers.

I'm glad you are healthy and well, I LIKE those slick, silver shoes. Very flashy and good for running in the dark! You actually can fly? I need those shoes...

Yay! What great news. I can't wait either for you to get your shoes back!

The volvo in the background is a parts volvo but hopefully the parking brake is on. Good luck running gradual miles!

re: your comment about my calves not hurting.

You absolutely should NOT copy my form. I may not have any calf fatigue, but my form is killing my IT bands and knee!! :p

I love it when new shoes feel like they are part of your body.

That's the best part of running - the flying and gliding feeling. : )

Seriously? Vegas is good biking? No traffic to worry about?
