I was asked in an email from a friend if something was wrong based on my lack of postings this week. Actually, I thought I had one or two this week, but you are correct. The last one was this past Sunday. Sorry. One nice thing about blogging, friends and family from all over can go to one central location and read whats going on instead of waiting for a call or email. I am not a big Facebook or Twitter person. Something about it? Cannot put my finger on it - but not for me. Too instantaneous maybe?
Anyway, nothing posted this week till now because, well, nothing is really going on? At least I don't think there is? At least anything anyone would care about. I have enjoyed reading some postings this past week. I am very glad to read a few from my favorite Badwater Super Hero - Jamie Donaldson. Also, good to hear Colorado Runner is getting great health news of late as well. Jerbear - super fast Half Marathon time at Big D. Great job. Also, Megruns, sorry about the lost glasses and start that Christmas shopping soon. You have that beautiful grand-baby to spoil!
Oh, big sorry's to my nephew. It looks like no Western States this year. There is always Wasatch again. There is always Leadville as well?
It has been a busy week though. Yet, today I was able to take a day of realworld off. An early start to our Family Christmas Vacation. We will all be home for the week. My wife has a long one to pull today and will be home very late tonight. Then after that - all of us home for a whole week! Can't wait. Not going anywhere, except for maybe two day trips. One for a Polar Express train ride a few hours away, and we might do a one day surprise trip to Disneyland for the kids. Be fun for them to see Disneyland all lit up for Christmas.
Running. Today, since I was home, I was able to get in 5 miles in between my youngest preschool Christmas Party and the older kids Elementary School Christmas Parties. Yes, Meg they call them that here. Sorry for the overly political correctness in California. I do understand it all, but maybe all of that is taken a tad too far there? Anyway, some fun parties here.
Nice run this AM. T shirt weather and shorts. We had to get near 65 today. Felt nice being 4 days away from the first day of Winter and a short sleeve, shorts attired 5 miler. For the week I will be hitting my goals. Mostly a full week of running even though this is recovery month. Really nice and fast 9 miler earlier in the week. I really pushed it hard for the last three miles and ended up with a good time overall. However, it was more that wonderful feeling of freedom, or runners high. That feeling of being in good enough shape to knock down 9-13 miles on any given day. Who would've thunk? Not me a year ago. Great feeling and great way to close out the year.
Tomorrow, I will try another 16 miler. My last one really beat me up the last 3 miles. I felt it for a number days afterwards as well. Next week I am taking most of the week off from running and everything else in life. Giving all my time to my family. So, if tomorrow's 16 beats me again, I will have plenty of time to recovery. Hmm nice recovery walk around Disneyland?
Take care one and all. Have a great weekend! Merry Christmas and Cheers!

Yes, I too have been a bit worried about your lack of blog entries, hoped all was well but now I know that you've just been giving your little kiddos all of your attention(and your wife)and that's what you SHOULD be doing. Well done!
Hope your long run goes well tomorrow, you should have nice weather. Go Bolts on Sunday, yipee!
Hi Meg! I am doing fine. Thanks for following and as always love your comments. What's up with LT this year though? Jackson and Rivers are doing well.
Don't ever worry about having nothing - you always have something good for us! It's winter doldrum time - I think everyone has it a bit. LT will be fine - he just hit the "30 yr old running back" wall.
Glad to hear everything is fine. One of the side effects of chnging my blog template is a lost a few folks on my reading list. I think I've solved the problem now....
Sounds like you've got some great runs in! I love the feeling that I could do 9-13 miles without too much freaking out before hand, it's def a nice feeling, and a HUGE accomplishment, so kudos to getting to that point in your fitness. :D Thanks for the shoutout about my half. :) I've definitely been lacking in teh blogging dept, but hopefully that'll change soon. Hope the 16 went well!
