.... getter better." Thanks John, Paul, George and Ringo. I still have a headache and rough throat, but if the wind was not blowing sand 40 mph this AM - I would have put in some miles.
The kids are all making improvements. Except we still had a rough night for the youngest ones. Oldest is dealing with it now. Good kids. We love them all of course a mighty bunch. The bright side of all this - both flu's - regular and H1N1 have now gone through us. We should have a very happy and healthy Holidays. Which we can't wait for. Yes, even in Viva Las Vegas, we have a pretty traditional happy family Holidays.
To answer an email I got this AM, yes I am still planning on running Vegas R and R. Just doubt I will be able to do the full marathon at this point. Not very upset over that to be honest. One, I want a realistic finish time and for it to be a positive experience. Plus, more and more, I am feeling the Half is where it is at for me. I still want the training for at least one Full Marathon a year though. I will have to look over the schedule of life and figure out the best full Marathon to do and when.
So, to clarify the upcoming events schedule: Turkey Trott TDay, Vegas Rock and Roll Half, Dec. 6th; Surf City Half Marathon Feb. (don't remember the date?). After that ???? we will see?
It will be a Full Marathon though. I have been leaning towards the San Diego Rock and Roll end of May. Yet, this new LA Marathon course has me going some and I like the end of March time frame. I think that will be perfect timing after doing three Halfs and a 12k since Labor Day. I should have a really good bank/base of miles to dip into for a full by then. Plus, I read the course is downhill like the St. George.
Speaking of which, I will register again for St. George in 2010. Hope the Lottery lets me in this year Sis! So, that could make two Full Marathons in 2010. Also, Disneyland Half will be a yearly event for our family Labor Day weekend. If we end up in Seattle for our usual end of June family vacation this year, Seattle Rock and Roll Full or Half Marathon is a possibility. Plus, I see tix for the U2 360 degree concert are going on sale soon in Seattle. The date is very near Seattle R&R and Family Vacay time.
Hope that answers my family email for the day? Sorry to hear about your Father in Law, Running Fat Guy. Be thinking about ya and have you in our prayers. Jerbear - ah, bookstores. Love them. I miss the good ones in Seattle. Meg Runs, sorry you lost your bet for my run this AM. I will do one tonight if the wind dies down, sore throat and all. I think the best meds for my bug is seeing more fantastic photos of the trails in Colorado though. Hmmm? Hint, hint? ;)
Have fun out there! Cheers!

glad you're feeling better! I totally agree with the half being where it's at. granted, I've yet to do a full, but I just love the 13.1 distance. you can train hard but it's not all consuming like I feel marathon training will be.
Yep, those Colorado pictures are healing aren't they? Glad the little peeps in your life are better and that you're going to do the half in LV. At least you won't have to drive too far! My friend is doing it, I'll have her look for you. Are you dressing up as Santa? I heard lots of people do that! Hmmm...doesn't sound fun, a flock of sweaty Santas? Run San Diego!!
Yep, that's one way to look at the whole flu shinding that's invaded your house; it will be gone by the holidays!!!
I've been thinking of running San Diego too; I've heard it's a great race.
That's so funny that you used to live near KC. I am a huge KC Chiefs fan (unfortunetely) and I grew up an hour outside of KC, yet my mom had many friends in Topeka, so we would visit there often. Small world we live in!!
