Been stuck in a noticeable training cycle. A month or so of solid effort. Then ..... well a fall off. Either, I get sick with something, or my mental edge for it gets sick. Maybe all runners go through this? Wait a minute? I just said maybe all runners like I am one of them? I am about the slowest slug of runner out there. To the point I a having a hard time calling myself a runner. I am in this for a lifetime. So, maybe at some point in life I will actually call myself a runner?
Saw, two runners this AM. One dude and dudette. Not running together. They were on parallel streets a block apart. They both looked like runners. I think I looked like them once upon a time ago. I got fat. I hate it. But, what I am going to do about it. I will ease back into for the umpteenth time to only drink one can of Coke a day or Dr. Pepper. Drink more water and stay away from French Fries. Will see.
However, I am going to change my training. More runs for one. I have been going three a week. All long. I am going to work in five a week. Two of these short 2-3 mile runs mixed in with two of at least 4.5-5 miles, and one long run 6-8 miles. Do it for a month than take 5 days off. Meaning, I am going to take up the most of my one month decent training, by packing in the most I can. Then expecting the crash will come, take the 5 days off before it happens. A pre-emptive forced on me crash before the real crash happens. It starts today. See how June happens. So, 22-25 miles a week and somewhere around 90 for the month.
